Privacy Policy
Effective Date: June 1, 2026 · Last Updated: July 9, 2026
1. Introduction
Welcome to ZCut. This Privacy Policy applies to ZCut Creator Studio (a Windows desktop software, including its "Create Reel" feature and optional Pro subscription) and ZCut Album (an Android mobile application), collectively referred to as "ZCut," "we," "our," or "the Services."
We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data. By downloading or using ZCut Creator Studio or ZCut Album, you agree to the practices described herein.
2. Information We Collect
ZCut Creator Studio (Windows Software)
- ZCut Creator Studio operates entirely offline. It does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on external servers.
- All photos, watermark configurations, album names, and client information you enter remain solely on your local device.
- The .zalbum files generated are stored locally on your machine and shared manually by you.
ZCut Album (Android App)
- Advertising Data: ZCut Album displays advertisements served by Google AdMob and other advertising networks. These networks may collect device identifiers (such as Android Advertising ID), IP address, usage data, and general location for the purpose of serving relevant ads. This data is collected by the ad network, not by ZCut directly.
- Crash Reports: Anonymous crash and diagnostic data may be collected automatically to help us improve app stability.
- Photo Files: The app accesses .zalbum files stored on your device only when you open them. We do not upload your photos or album files to any server.
- No Account Required: ZCut Album does not require registration. We do not collect your name, email address, or any personally identifiable information.
3. Payment and Subscription Data (ZCut Creator Pro)
The "Create Reel" feature within ZCut Creator Studio offers an optional paid Pro subscription (₹199/month or ₹1999/year). If you choose to subscribe:
- Payments are processed by our third-party payment partners, Razorpay (customers in India) or PayPal (customers outside India — coming soon). These processors collect and handle your name, email address, and payment details (card, UPI, bank, or PayPal account) directly, under their own privacy policies: Razorpay Privacy Policy and PayPal Privacy Policy.
- ZCut itself only receives the minimum information needed to activate your Pro subscription on the software — typically your email address and subscription/payment status (active, cancelled, expired). We do not receive or store your full card number, CVV, or bank credentials at any point.
- This subscription email is used solely to verify and activate your Pro license within ZCut Creator Studio, and to contact you regarding billing or support if needed.
4. How We Use Information
Any data collected (primarily through ad networks in ZCut Album) is used for:
- Displaying relevant advertisements to keep ZCut Album free for all users
- Improving app performance through anonymous crash diagnostics
- Understanding general usage patterns to improve the user experience
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for their own marketing purposes. Your photos and client data never leave your device.
5. Third-Party Advertising (ZCut Album)
ZCut Album uses Google AdMob and may use other advertising SDKs. These third-party services have their own privacy policies governing their data collection practices:
You may opt out of personalized advertising by adjusting your device settings: Settings → Google → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalization.
6. Data Storage and Security
- All photographer data (photos, watermark settings, project files) is stored exclusively on the photographer's local device.
- All client data (selected photos within .zalbum files) is stored exclusively on the client's local device.
- ZCut does not operate any cloud infrastructure for user content.
- The .zalbum format is a proprietary, encrypted container format. Files cannot be opened by any software other than ZCut Album, providing a layer of protection for your images during transit.
7. Children's Privacy
ZCut Creator Studio and ZCut Album are not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete such information.
8. Your Rights
Since we do not collect personally identifiable information directly, most data rights (access, correction, deletion) apply to the ad networks referenced in Section 4. You may:
- Opt out of personalized ads through your device's advertising settings
- Delete the ZCut Album app at any time to remove all locally stored data
- Contact us with any privacy-related concerns or questions
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a revised "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the Services after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Policy.
